Happy Hour #1

This week we have done several things:

• Meet with professor Beauchamp to talk about our control system and some details that are still missing or not calculated.
• We sent an email to see if we could complete our project on site and the professors could evaluate it there.
• Practice our parts for the happy hour which will be just a few hours after this post
• Parts have arrived and we have started the implementation
• Our client sent us the information for the web host which he is paying so the software part implementation has also begun.

progress report deadline extension

We were given a time extension for the progress report and, therefore, we verified all parts carefully and will be submitting it as soon as all the parts are completely finished and moodle is back up.

Almost all the parts for the progress report are completed, some minor details are still missing like the format for page numbers, appendices, etc.. We should finish the complete report tomorrow before the deadline

Finished design phase presentation

Today we finally finished the presentation with the basic design specifications. Some other more specific details are still unfinished but we will finish them on time for the progress report.

Project Proposal Final Version

Today all the members have finished working with the assigned part of the proposal. We used the appendix as professor  J. Fernando Vega had proposed. And now we are putting everything together in order to check that everyone did the work and it has no grammatical errors.  

February 10

Today we kept working on making the necessary changes to our parts of the proposal. This changes were proposed by d. Fernando Vega in our initial proposal draft. Many of the other changes were explained in a meeting with him last Wednesday in which the use of an appendix could greatly help in detailing some of the parts. We should all finish our parts for tomorrow to properly join them in a document with all the necessary format changes.

Reunion 9 de febrero de 2013

El día de hoy nos dedicamos a analizar las partes del proposal (Draft) que cada uno hicimos y que partes debemos editar, eliminar, mejorar y que otras cosas podemos añadir de beneficio al proyecto.

Las partes asignadas a trabajar cada miembro del equipo son las mismas ya con las recomendaciones de los profesores. Mañana en la reunión continuaremos editando y mejorando el proposal final

Taller Sobre Diseño

En el día de hoy, el grupo se presento para escuchar y aprender sobre un taller de diseño llevado a cabo por el profesor Ivan Baiges. Donde se discutieron muchos puntos importantes como:

• El significado de diseño.
• El significado de un proyecto.
• Tener bien definido lo que es un "scope", "time", "performance" y "cost".
• Nos hablo sobre el QFD (Quality Function Deployment).
• Y nos hablo sobre el Product Design Specification (PDS).

Presentation1

In the meeting that was taken place today:

• Each member did a part in the power-point.
• We looked for ways to keep the presentation short and to the point.
• We discussed how we were going to present to the public, so that we can keep the presentation for up to 5 minutes.

     En el dia de hoy terminamos las partes asignadas a cada integrante del grupo y las unimos en un mismo documento. Adicional a esto aclaramos que el elemento adicional de hardware de el proyecto lo era un sensor de temperatura y humedad que cuando llegaba a ciertas medidas encendia uno o varios abanicos conectados a los sensores. Al enviar la señar de prender se enviará tambn los datos de temperatura y humedad con un XBee a la computadora para llevar un tipo de log con esa informacion y el dia y hora en q ocurrio.

     Luego de juntar nuestras partes verificamos el contenido de la propuesta y añadimos partes adicionales que hacian falta para completarla. Estas partes eran:

• tabla de contenidos
• bibliografia
• portada
• executive summary

Luego de completar la propuesta la grabamos como PDF, la juntamos con el schedule en MS project y la enviamos en un zipped folder por Moodle.

El día de hoy estuvimos reunidos a partir de las 7:00 p.m. para trabajar en nuestras partes del reporte he hicimos las asignaciónes y quizes asignados en moodle.

Reunión del martes 29 de enero de 2013

El día de hoy estuvimos reunidos a partir de las 6:00 p.m. para seguir trabajando y elaborando en nuestras respectivas partes de la propuesta del proyecto. Éstas se acordaron en la reunión del lunes 28 de enero.

También tomamos la oportunidad para comparar ideas de cómo exactamente se estará implementando el smart barcode scanner, y miramos los costos de varios modelos con los que podríamos estar trabajando.
